Social Media for Lawyers: How to Use it Effectively and Ethically

Social Media for Lawyers— How to Use it Effectively and Ethically

Figuring out how to use social media to market your law practice can be a daunting task. Especially when you realize all the ethics rules you must follow if you don’t want to put your license in jeopardy!

On July 7, I’m teaming up with Amanda Sexton from FocusWorks Marketing to lead a workshop on social media for lawyers. The event is being hosted by the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

Attendees will walk away from this seminar with a customized social media action plan they can implement right away, as well as a basic understanding of:

  • The pros and cons of various social media platforms;

  • Ideas for what to post;

  • How to figure out who your target audience is;

  • An understanding of the importance of consistent branding;

  • How to use data to make better marketing decisions; and

  • The ethical issues lawyers need to pay attention to when posting on social media.
